Chancey represents those cats that are full of energy, who love people and are very affectionate. The exploring, curious kitties who are so much fun and just brighten the lives of their owners. Our Chancey happens to be the sister of Rascal the Cat, (so trouble-making runs in the family.) Hope you have fun making her!

Skill- Moderately easy
Size- 17 1/2" L x 8 1/4" W

Materials-
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Orchid, Medium Purple or Pale Plum (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Gold (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Bright Yellow (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Light Raspberry (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Black (3 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn White (3 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Baby Pink (3 oz)
Crochet hook sizes H and F
Fiberfill
Scissors
Pins
Blunt needle
Optional: Pink color for cheeks


Body (make 2)-
With Orchid and H hook, ch 31.
Row 1- 1 sc in third ch from hook and in each ch across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 2- 1 sc in each sc across and in top of ch bump of first sc. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 3- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 4 to 9- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 10- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off Orchid, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 11- Join Gold and work 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 12 to 14- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 15- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 16- Join Bright Yellow and make 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 17 to 19- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 20- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 21- Join Light Raspberry, and work 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 22 ro 29- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 30- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Sew Sides and Bottom together, leaving top open for now. Fasten off, eave in tails inside of Body.
Stuff firmly but leave top open.


Arms (Make 2)-
With Gold and H hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 4- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (24 sc)
Rnd 5- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnds 5 to 7- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnd 8- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, sc2tog over the next 2 sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 9- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, rep around. (14 sc)
Stuff as you go!
Rnd 10- 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc)
Rnds 11 to 19- 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc) Fasten off Gold, weave in tail.
Rnd 20- Join Bright Yellow and make 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc)
Rnds 21 to 27- 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc) Fasten off Bright Yellow, weave in tail.
Rnd 28- Join Light Raspberry and work 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc)
Rnds 29 ro 31- 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc) Fasten off Light Raspberry, leaving long tail to sew with.
Finish stuffing and sew to sides of Body, fasten off, weave in tails inside of Body.
Legs (Make 2)-
With Light Raspberry and H hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 4- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (24 sc)
Rnd 5- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnds 5 to 7- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnd 8- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, sc2tog over the next 2 sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 9- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, rep around. (14 sc)
Stuff as you go!
Rnds 10 to 12- 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc) Fasten off, weave in tails.
Rnd 13- Join Bight Yellow and work 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc)
Rnds 14 to 18- 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc) Fasten off, weave in tails.
Rnd 19- Join Gold and make 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc)
Rnds 20 to 26- 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc) Fasten off, weave in tails.
Rnd 27- Join Orchid and make 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc)
Rnds 28 to 31- 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Finish stuffing and sew to Bottom of Body, fasten off, weave in tails inside of Body.
Tail- 
With Gold and H hook, ch 38.
Row 1- 4 dc in fourth chain from hook, 5 dc in next ch, 5 dc in next ch and in each ch across. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Center tail at Back of Body at the level of first row of Gold yarn and sew in place. Fasten off and weave in tails inside of Body.



Head-
Front-
Row 1- Skip first 5 sc of top of Body for Shoulder, join Aran to next sc, work 1 sc in that sc and in each of next 19 sc. Ch 1, turn, leaving the rest of the sc unworked for opposite Shoulder (20 sc)
Row 2- 1 sc in each sc across. (20 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3 to 14- 1 sc in each sc across. (20 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 15- 1 sc in each sc across. (20 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Back-
Repeat as for Front. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Sew sides of Head closed, weave in tails inside of Head. Leave Top open for now.

Muzzle (make 2)-
With Bright Yellow and H hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (18 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Pin both pieces of Muzzle at the center of the Front of Head, above the third row of sc, counting from the Bottom. Sew in place. Fasten off, weave in tails inside of Head. Thread a blunt needle with Black and make small stitches on each piece of the Muzzle as shown in the photos. Fasten off, weave in tails inside of Head.

Nose-
With Baby Pink and H hook, ch 2.
Row 1- 1 sc in second ch from hook. Ch 2, turn. (1 sc)
Row 2- 1 sc in second ch from hook and in next sc, 1 sc in top of turning ch. (3 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 3- 1 sc in second ch from hook and in next sc, 1 sc in each sc across and in top of turning ch. (5 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Pin Nose on top of Muzzle in between the two circles as seen in photos. Sew in place. Fasten off, weave in ends at back of work.
Mouth- Thread blunt needle with Black and stitch a contour for the Mouth around the bottom of the Muzzle.
Fasten off, weave in tails inside of Head.
Eyes (Make 2 of each)-
Whites of the Eyes- With White and H hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hoo, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc) 
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Place above and to the side of the Muzzle as seen in photos. Pin down and sew in place using tails. Fasten off and weave in tails inside of Head.
Pupils-
With Black ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook. sl st to join rnd. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with. (6 sc)
Pin Pupils toward the upper part of Whites, to give Chancey a bit of a surprised look. Sew in place. Fasten off and weave in tails inside of Head.

Stuff Head well and sew it closed. Fasten off, weave in tail.
Optional-
Bow-
With Light Raspberry and H hook, ch 12.
Row 1- Work 1 hdc in third ch from hook and in each ch across. (10 sts, counting first ch 2 as a stitch) Ch 2, turn.
Row 2- 1 hdc in each st across and in top of turning ch. (10 sts) ch 2, turn.
Row 3- Rep row 2. Fasten off, leaving long tail to wrap around middle of Bow and to tack Bow onto cowl.

Wrap yarn 15 times around center of Bow. Thread blunt needle with what is left of yarn and sew Bow at the center of the Head. Fasten off, weave in tails.


Ears-
Ear #1-
With Bright Yellow and H hook ch 2. 
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnds 2 to 3- 1 sc in each sc around. (6 sc) 
Rnd 4- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)

Rnd 5- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 6- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (24 sc)
Rnds 7-8- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnd 9- 1 sc in first sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 10- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, rep around. (12 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Ear #2-
With Gold, repeat as for Ear #1.

Stick Ears into corners of Head as seen in photos (do NOT stuff!) and sew them in place. Fasten off, weave in tails. 

Optional- Add color to Chancey's cheeks. I use artist's oil pastel, but you can use whatever you prefer.
