Here we go again! Having fun with a toy wearing stripes. This one is the sweetest and easiest puppy you'll ever make. If you are looking for an easy yet super cute pattern to make as a gift for a child you love, Tickler is a shoe-in for the job! If you would like to donate some toys to donate to a children's charity or even for a nursing home, Tickler will be a wonderful one to use because it is so easy and works up fast. For whatever reason you want him, he's really a lovable little pup, ready for squishy hugs!

Size- 15 1/2" L x 9 1/2" W
Skill- Advanced beginner onward

Materials-
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Spring Green (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Bright Yellow (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Pumpkin (3 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Aran (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Black (3 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn White (2 oz)
Crochet hook size H
Fiberill
Blunt needle
Scissors
Pins

Body (Make 2)-
With crochet hook size H and Spring Green, ch 31.
Row 1- 1 sc in third ch from hook and in each ch till end of row. (30 sc, counting ch bump of first st.) Ch 1, turn.
Row 2- 1 sc in each sc across and in top of ch bump of first st. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3 to 4- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 5- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 6- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 7- Join Bright Yellow, work 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 8 to 11- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 12- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 13- Join Pumpkin, make 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 14 to 15- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 16- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 17- Join Spring Green, work 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 18 to 21- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 22- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc)  Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 23- Join Bright Yellow, make 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 24 to 29- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 30- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.


Sew Front and Back together at the sides and the Bottom. Fasten off, and weave in tails inside of Body.


Arms (Make 2)-
With Pumpkin and H hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in second ch from hook, rep around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 4- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (24 sc)
Rnds 5 to 7- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnd 8- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, sc2tog over the next 2 sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 9- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, rep around. (14 sc)
Stuff as you go!
Rnd 10- 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc)
Rnds 11 to 22- 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Finish stuffing and using blunt needle and tails, sew to side of Body as seen in photos. Fasten off and weave ends inside of Body.

Feet and Legs (Make 2)-
With Spring Green and H hook, ch 2.
Repeat all rnds as for Arms. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Stuff Body and sew Legs and Arms on. Fasten off, weave in tails. Sew Muzzle unto Face and fasten off, weave in tails. Sew Eyes above Muzzle and stitch Eyebrows. Fasten off, weave in tails.
Sew sides of Head and stuff Head. Sew Top of Head closed. Fasten off, weave in tail. Position Beret as you like it best or as you see it in photos and sew it in place with careful small stitches.
Fasten off, weave in tails.



Tail (Stuff tail lightly as you go)-
With Bright Yellow and H hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3- 1 sc in each of first 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc. (14 sc)
Stuff as you go!
Rnd 4- 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc)
Rnds 5 to 12- 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc) Fasten off Bright Yellow, leaving long tail to sew with.

Measure Back, centering tail as seen in photos, pin in place. Thread blunt needle with leftover tail and sew. Fasten off and secure tail inside Body.
 Stuff Body.


Head-
Front or "Face"-
With Aran and H hook, join to 6th sc of Front (skipping the first 5 sc for "Shoulder".)
Row 1- 1 sc in same sc as sc where you joined and in each of next 19 sc, skip last 5 sc for second "Shoulder." (20 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 2- 1 sc in each sc across. (20 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3 to 14- 1 sc in each sc across. (20 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 15- 1 sc in each sc across. (20 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Back of Head-
Repeat as for Front.

Muzzle-
With Aran and H hook, ch 6.
Rnd 1- 1 sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across (5 sc,) working in the opposite side across the loops of foundation ch, make 2 sc in first loop, 1 sc in each of next 3 loops, 2 sc in last loop, sl st to join rnd. (12 sc)
Rnds 2 to 6- 2 sc in each sc around. (24) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Nose-
With Black and H hook, ch 5.
Row 1- 1 sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (4 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 2- 1 sc in each sc each sc across. (4 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 3- 1 sc in each sc across. (4 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Pin Nose to Center of Muzzle as seen in photos and sew in place. Fasten off, weave tails inside of Muzzle. Embroider a small line of a Mouth, 3 rows below the Nose and across 5 sc. Fasten off, weave in tails.

Stuff Muzzle with Fiberfill and center it in Face on Row 2 of Face. Squeeze it down a bit, so that 4 rows of the Feace will be left free, above the Muzzle. Pin in place. Thread blunt needle with tail and sew Muzzle onto Face.
Fasten off, weave in tails.

Eyes (Make 2)-
With Black and H hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Pin Eyes on sides of Muzzle as seen in photos. Sew onto Face using tails. Fasten off, weave in tails inside of Head. Embroider a couple of "dots" of light using White yarn. Fasten off, weave in tails inside of Head.

Ears (Make 2)-
With H hook and Bright Yellow, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 4- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (24 sc)
Rnd 5- 1 sc in each of first 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (30 sc)
Rnd 6- 1 sc in each of first 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (36)
Rnd 7- 1 sc in each of first 3 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, rep around. (29 sc)
Rnd 8- 1 sc in each of first 5 sc, sc2tog, 1 sc in each of next 5 sc, sc2tog, [1 sc in each of next 3 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc,] rep 3 times. (24 sc)
Rnd 9- [1 sc in each of first 3 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc,] rep 4 times, 1 sc in each of last 4 sc. (20 sc)
Rnd 10- 1 sc in each sc around. (20 sc)
Rnd 11- 1 sc in each of first 3 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, rep around. (16 sc)
Rnd 12- [1 sc in each of first 4 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc,] rep twice, 1 sc in each sc to end of rnd. (14 sc)
Rnd 13- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, 1 sc in each sc till end of rnd. Sl st to join rnd. (12 sc) Fasten off Bright Yellow, leaving long tail to sew with.

Stuff Body firmly. Sew "Shoulders" using Bright Yellow tails. Weave in ends inside of Body. Sew Sides of Head, leaving the Top open. Weave in tails inside of Head. Stuff Head firmly.

Stuff Head firmly. Thread blunt needle and sew the Head closed. Fasten off, weave in tail.
Place Ear In front of Face and sew straight across edge of Head. Fasten off, weave in tail. Fold Ear backwards and to the side, letting it fall gently to the side of the Face, somewhat over the Eyes. Repeat with the opposite Ear.
