Funmigurumi Frogs: Croaky Puddler

Best Blog Tips

We had a big freeze and then a thaw and developed some plumbing problems on our main bathroom's water heater line. So it's been quite a bit of trouble around the house. The family was a good sport, but I could not function as usual. Well, after 2 weeks, the plumbers plumbed and we're finally out of plumbing mud pies!

I was so busy with all of this that I did not notice what was happening! I was thinking of continuing our cute series of Mookie Tookies. Perhaps we would make another tabby cat or a Chihuahua. . .But then I got a delegation of frogs from the Chocolate Ponds beyond Pleasant Valley. They wanted to know why they have been "ignored" and not featured in our site. . .I was speechless! We're talking girly girl here. I see a frog and I climb onto the nearest chair!
But they came ready with Picket signs: Down with the Dogs, We Want Frogs! Out with the Cats, Give frogs a Chance!

And they threatened to picket under my bedroom window in the middle of the night! So in the interest of peace, happiness, and a good night's sleep, I negotiated temporarily stopping the Mookie Tookie series and making some Frogs!
So Croaky will be the first of our visitors from the Chocolate Ponds. He's a kid from the Puddler Clan, and he's as sweet as cocoa mud waters can make him! Here's the pattern, enjoy!

  2. Hi; I have just finished making the body, and thought I found a mistake on line 11, it says to make 10 then 2 in one single crochets. I changed it to 9 and changed all the following lines. But now my frog is more round then oval. Did I do it wrong, if so would you please explain.

    thank you

  3. Hi Lucille! I'm sorry you're having trouble (although I don't think you are,)Croaky is supposed to be round. You make a round piece for the bottom of his body and a round piece for the top, then you sew them together around the middle and that forms his shape. If you're like me, who likes to stuff firmly (a LOT of fiberfill)your Croaky will be kind of egg-shaped a bit, but if he's round (my ideal, really)you've got him down pat!
