This is the new baby born in the Funmigurumi jungle. He was actually born early last night, and here he is, fresh from the nursery, to greet all of you and make friends everywhere!
The thing that I like most about Blinky is that he's a scrap-buster, you can raid your scrap stash to make one or many of this cutie. Enjoy!
Materials-
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Real Teal (scraps)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Spring Green (scraps)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Blue (scraps)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Pumpkin (scraps)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Delft Blue (scraps)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Shocking Pink (scraps)

Red Heart worsted weight yarn Turqua (scraps)

Crochet hook sizes H, J and F

Body
Side #1 (Make 2)-

With Real Teal and H hook, ch 16.
Row 1- 1 sc in third ch from hook and in each ch across. (15 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 2- 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3 to 7- 1 sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Row 8- 1 sc in each sc across. Fasten off Real Teal, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 9- Join Spring Green. Make 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 10- 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 11 to 15- 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 16- 1 sc in each sc across. Fasten off Spring Green, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 17- Join Pumpkin. Make 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 18 to 23- 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 24- 1 sc in each sc across. Fasten off Pumpkin, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 25- Join Blue. Work 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 26 to 30- 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 31- 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Fasten off Blue, leaving long tail to sew with.
Side #2 (Make 2)-
With Delft Blue and H hook, ch 16.
Row 1- 1 sc in third ch from hook and in each ch across. (15 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 2- 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3 to 7- 1 sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Row 8- 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Fasten off Delft Blue, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 9- Join Bright Yellow. Make 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 10- 1 sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. (15 sc)
Rows 11 to 15- 1 sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. (15 sc)
Row 16- 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Fasten off Bright Yellow, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 17- Join Shocking Pink. Work 1 sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. (15 sc)
Rows 18 to 23- 1 sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. (15 sc)
Row 24- 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Fasten off Shocking Pink, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 25- Join Turqua. Make 1 sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. (15 sc)
Rows 26 to 30- 1 sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. (15 sc)
Row 31- 1 sc in each sc across. Fasten off Turqua, leaving long tail to sew with.
Front- Take 1 piece of Side #1 and sew it to 1 piece of Side #2, using leftover tails. Fasten off, weave in tends.
Back- Repeat for Back of Body, matching colors, if you like. Sew sides and Bottom of Body closed, but leave top open. Fasten off, weave in ends.

Legs
Leg #1-

Rnd 1- Make 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 4- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (24 sc) Fasten off Blue, weave in tail.
Rnd 5- Join Pumpkin. Make 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnd 6- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc) Fasten off Pumpkin, weave in tail.
Rnd 7- Join Spring Green, work 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnds 8 to 9- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc) Fasten off Spring green, weave in tail.
Rnd 10- Join Real Teal. Make 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnds 11 to 13- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc) Fasten off Real Teal, leaving long tail to sew with.
Leg #2-
With Turqua and H hook, ch 2.

Rnds 7 to 8- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc) Fasten off Shocking Pink, weave in tail.
Rnd 9- Join Bright Yellow. Work 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnd 10- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc) Fasten off Bright Yellow, weave in tail.
Rnd 11- Join Delft Blue. Make 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnds 12 to 13- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc) Fasten off Delft Blue, leaving long tail to sew with.

Stuff legs. Thread blunt needle and sew each leg in place as seen in photos. Fasten off securely inside Body.

Arms
Arm #1-

With Blue and H hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Make 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (18 sc)

Rnd 5- Join Pumpkin, Make 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc)
Rnd 6- 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc) Fasten off Pumpkin, weave in tail.
Rnd 7- Join Spring Green. Work 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnds 8 to 9- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnd 10- Join Real Teal. Make 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)

Stuff arms and sew in place as seen in photos. Fasten off securely inside of Body.
Muzzle-
With Gold and H hook, ch 11.
Rnd 1- 1 sc in 3rd ch from hook and all across till your reach the last ch, make 3 sc in that chain. Do not turn, work, sl st to join rnd.
Rnd 2- Ch 1, 1 sc in same spot, 1 sc in each of next 8 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 8 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, sl st to end rnd.
Rnd 3- Ch 1, 1 sc in each of next 10 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 10 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of last 2 sc, sl st to join rnd.
Rnd 4- Ch 1, 1 sc in each of next 10 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 10 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in last sc. Sl st to join rnd.
Rnds 5 to 8- 1 sc in each sc around. (You will have now a total of 34 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

For the Nostrils, we will simulate large round buttons.
Nostrils (Make 2)-
With F hook and Pumpkin, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Measure muzzle and pin nostrils in place. Sew and fasten off, weaving in tails.
Thread blunt needle with Black and stitch an “X” on each button. I made each stitch twice to make it thicker, you can do it once, if you prefer. Fasten off and secure at the back.
Stuff muzzle. Pin muzzle to the Font of Body and using leftover tail, sew in place. Fasten off, weave in tail.
Mouth-
Optional-
With Black embroider Mouth as seen in photos.
Eyes (Make 2)-
With F and Black, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Optional- With Black, embroider eyebrows as seen in photos. Fasten off, weave in tail.

Tail-
With 1 strand each of Bright Yellow, Spring Green, Pumpkin and Gold and J hook, ch 24, leaving a little bit of yarn at the beginning of the chain. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with. Tie a little knot at the end of the chain and trim, leaving the little bit of yarn to act as a little tassel at the end. Measure back, center tail at Back and sew firmly (remember that kids like to pull tails!) Fasten off secure inside Body.
Ears-
Ear #1 (Make 2)-
With Pumpkin and hook size H, ch 3.
Row 1- Make 3 dc in third ch from hook. Ch 1, turn. (4 dc)
Row 2- (Change to hook size F) work 2 sc in each dc across. (8 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 3- 1 sc in each sc across. (8 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with in one of the two pieces. Thread blunt needle and sew both pieces together, leaving bottom open to stick to head.
Ear #2 (Make 2)-
With Gold and hook size H, ch 3.
Row 1- Make 3 dc in third ch from hook. Ch 1, turn. (4 dc)
Row 2- (Change to hook size F) work 2 sc in each dc across. (8 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 3- 1 sc in each sc across. (8 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with in one of the two pieces. Thread blunt needle and sew both pieces together, leaving bottom open to stick to head.
Stuff Blinky’s body well, pushing the fiberfill down into the corners of the “pillow” little body, so that he’ll have a cute chubbiness. Sew top. Fasten off, weave in tail. Insert open portion of each ear in place and sew as seen in photos. Fasten off, weave in tail.
