Funmigurumi Poochie Dog No. 12: Hugger

This is Hugger, the cousin of Booker and his kid brother, Sparky. The three of them go together and are a load of fun!

Materials:
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Paddy Green (About half a skein)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Spring Green
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Bright Yellow (About half a skein)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Pumpkin
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Black (scraps)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn White (scraps)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Soft Brown (scraps)
Fiberfill
Blunt needle
Measuring tape
Scissors
Crochet hook size H


Body (make 2)- with Paddy Green, ch 31.
Row 1- 1 sc in each sc across (30 sc made), ch 1, turn.
Rows 2 to 10- 1 sc in each sc across. Fasten off, Paddy green, laving long tails to sew with.
Row 11- Join Spring Green, make 1 sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. Rows 12 to 15- 1 sc in each sc across.
Fasten off Spring Green, leaving long tails to sew with.
Row 16- Join Bright Yellow, work 1 sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. Rows 17 to 30- 1 sc in each ac across.
Fasten off, Bright Yellow, leaving long tails to sew with.
Place both sides of body together with Right Sides facing, and using leftover tails, sew sides and bottom. Fasten off.
Turn inside out and set aside. Make legs.
Legs (Make 2)- With Paddy green, Ch 2. Rnd 1- Make 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. Rnd 4- 1 sc in each of
first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc. Rnd 5- Make 1 sc in each sc around. Rnd 6- 1 sc in each sc around. Rnd 7- Work 1 sc in each sc around.
Rnd 8- Work 1 sc in each sc around. Rnd 9- 1 sc in each sc around. Rnd 10- Make 1 sc in each sc around. Rnd 11- Make 1 sc in each sc around.
Rnd 12- Work 1 sc in each sc around. Rnd 13- Make 1 sc in each sc around. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with. Stuff legs, sew to body as seen in photos. Fasten off.
Arms (Make 2)- With Bright Yellow, Ch 2. Rnd 1- Make 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around.
Rnd 4- Make 1 sc in each sc around. Rnds 5 to 6- 1 sc in each sc around. Rnd 7- Work 1 sc in each sc around. Rnds 8 to 9- 1 sc in each sc around.
Rnd 10- Make 1 sc in each sc around. Rnd 11- 1 sc in each sc around, fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with. Stuff arms, sew to body as seen in photos, fasten off.
Muzzle- With Pumpkin, ch 2. Rnd 1- Make 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Rnd 2- Work 2 sc in each sc around. Rnd 3- Make 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. Rnd 4- 1 sc in each of first 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. Fastenoff, leaving long tail to sew with.
Nose- With Black, ch 6. Row 1- Make 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each ch from hook till last sc, 2 sc in last sc. 1 sc in each foundation chain till last loop, 2 sc in that loop, slip st to join rnd. Rnd 2- 2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in each sc across, till last sc, 2 sc in last sc, slip st to join rnd. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Left Ear- With Pumpkin, ch 2. Rnd 1- Make 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. Rnd 2- Work 2 sc in each sc around. Rnd 3- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around.
Rnd 4- 1 sc in each of first 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. Rnds 5 to 7- 1 sc in each sc around. Rnd 8- Work 1 sc in each of first 4 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, 1 sc in each of next 4 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, rep around.
Rnd 9- 1 sc in each of first 3 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, rep around.
Rnd 10- 1 sc in each sc around. Rnd 11- 1 sc in each of first 4 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, 1 sc in each of next 4 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, rep around. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Right Ear- With Spring Green, ch 2. rep all rnds as for Left Ear. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Eyes (Make 2)- With Black, ch 2. Rnd 1- make 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Fasten off. White of Eye Section- On the right side, join White. Row 2- Make 2 sc in each of next 3 sc. Sl st in next sc. Turn, Row 3- Work 1 sc in each sc made in previous row. Sl st on next sc. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Irises- Row 1- With Soft Brown, working on the right side, make 2 sc in each of remaining Black sc. Turn. Row 2- 1 sc in each sc in row. Fasten off, leaving long tail. With begining tail, slip stitch to join to the White part, and with ending tail, slip stitch to join to the opposite side of White portion.
Use remainder of tail to sew with.
Tail-
With Spring Green and H hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3- 1 sc in each of first 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each sc till end of rnd. (14 sc)
Stuff as you go!
Rnds 4 to 9- 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc)
Measure Front and place muzzle parts in place. Pin them down and sew them. Fasten off. Place eyes on top, pin them down and sew them in place. Fasten off. Embroider eyebrows as seen in photos. Fasten off.
Place nose on top of the muzzle as seen in photos, pin down, sew in place. Fasten off. Embroider mouth. Fasten off.
Stuff arms with Fiberfill and sew in place as seen in photos.
Stuff tail lightly. Turn Hugger around, measure back and center tail. Pin in place and sew. Fasten off.
Stuff Hugger's body, sew top of head. Fasten off. Place ears in place and sew. Fasten off.

Done!

We have just finished our LAST Funmigurumi Poochie Dog for now. This does not mean that we will never make dogs together again, it just means we are going to start with a whole series of new toys. It's a surprise. Stay tuned!

  3. Thank you very much and you're very welcome! I have been fighting the sniffles and watery eyes, accompanied by the occasional fit of sneezes, so I didn't notice the missing row.
    The pattern has been corrected and is alright now.

  7. Did I miss it or is it not there? The only thing I see about a tail is about sewing it on. Nothing about making the tail itself
