Cowletta Moolove Funmigurumi

With Cowletta, we will start a new family of Funmigurumi, the Moolove family, straight out of a green and pretty prairie!
The idea for this funmigurumi came from a personal request from a special crocheter, but it just stirred up things on the farm, so Cowletta wound up having a sister, her name is Milketta. I hear some mooing coming from the pasture so I don’t know if there are more little cows out there or may even a couple of bulls. . . Meantime, enjoy Cowletta until we find out!

Side #1 (Make 2)

With Burgundy, ch 16.
Row 1- 1 sc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. (15 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 2- 1 sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. (15 sc)
Rows 3 to 14- Rep row 2. (15 sc)
Row 15- 1 sc in each sc across. Fasten off Burgundy. Leave long tail to sew with. (15 sc)
Row 16- Join Buff. Work 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 17- 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 18 to 29- Rep row 17.

Rows 3 to 14- Rep row 2. (15 sc)
Row 15- 1 sc in each sc across. Fasten off Claret. Leave long tail to sew with. (15 sc)
Row 16- Join Carrot. Work 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 17- 1 sc in each sc across. (15 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 18 to 29- Rep row 17.
Row 30- 1 sc in each sc across. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with. (15 sc)

Place 1 piece of Body side #1 and 1 piece of Body side # 2 together, right sides facing,and threading a blunt needle with the tails left after fastening off, sew the pieces down the middle to join them. Repeat for the back side.
Now, placing both Back and Front of Body with both right sides facing, thread blunt needle with yarn of appropriate colors and sew sides and bottom of Body. Fasten off. Turn inside out and put aside.

Thread blunt needle with Black and embroider nostrils and mouth as you see in photos. Fasten off and weave in tails.

With Black, ch 11.
Row 1- 1 sc in 2nd ch from hk and in each ch across. (10 sc)
Row 2- Sc2 tog over first 2 sc, 1 sc in each sc till last 2 sc, sc2tog over last 2 sc. (8 sc)
Row 3- Sc2tog over first 2 sc, 1 sc in each sc till last 2 sc, sc2tog over last 2 sc. (6 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 4- 1 sc in each sc across. (6 sc)
Row 5- Sc2tog over first 2 sc, 1 sc in each of next sc till end of row. (5 sc)
Row 6- Sc2tog over first 2 sc, 1 sc in each sc till end of row. (4 sc)
Row 7- Sc2tog over first 2 sc, 1 sc in each sc till end of row. (3 sc)

Thread blunt needle. Pin spot to top of Front and sew in place. Fasten off, weave in thread.

Tail-
Cut 2 yarn strands 58 inches long on the following colors:
Buff
Claret
Carrot

Fold in half, and make wrapping the yarn around your thumb, make a knot, leaving a small loop on top to sew tail with.
Now, divide the strands in 3 sections of 4 strands each and braid.
Wrap again around your thumb and make a knot. Cut the ends evenly to make a tassel of the end of the tail.
Measure center of Back, and pin the tail. Thread a blunt needle with yarn and sew tail in place through the loop you left
on top. Fasten off, weave in tail.
Note- Sew firmly because you know that children like to pull tails!

Ears-
Ear #1-
With Buff, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sl st to join rnd. (5 sc)
Rnd 2- 1 sc in each sc around. (5 sc)
Rnd 3- 2 sc in each sc around. (10 sc)
Rnd 4- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (15 sc)
Rnd 5- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (20 sc)
Rnd 6- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, [1 sc in each of next 2 sc], rep from 3 more times, 1 sc in each of rest sc around. (24 sc)

Set aside for a moment and make Ear Spot as follows:

Pin to ear and sew in place, making sure you do not catch any of the loops you will need to continue crocheting.

Funmigurumi Monkeyroo No. 12: Kima

Kima means monkey in Swahili, so I decided that at least one of my monkeyroos would have a "real" monkey name. This is the last monkeyroo of the series, and a good one it has been! I think we have streteched our creativity and love of color, haven't we? We will be moving on to a new Amigurumi next time, but I will reserve it as a surpirse. For now, here's Kima!

Muzzle- With Hot Red, ch 12. Row 1- 1 sc in third ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 2 in last ch of row, turn to work in foundation loops. Row 2- 1 sc in each of next 8 foundation loops, 2 sc in last loop, sl st to join rnd. Fasten off Hot red, weave in tail. Rnd 3- Join Pumpkin. Work 2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in each of next 9 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 12 sc, 2 sc in last sc of rnd. Rnd 4- 1 sc in each sc around, sl st to join rnd. Fasten off Pumpkin, weave in tail. (27 sc) Rnd 5- Join Petal Pink. Make 1 sc in each sc around. (27 sc) Rnd 6- 1 sc in each sc around. Rnd 7- 1 sc in each sc around. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with. Thread a blunt needle with Black and stitch two nostrils on the muzzle. fasten off. Stuff muzzle and pin to body, maing sure you center it well. Thread blunt needle with leftover tail and sew in place. Fasten off, weave in tail. Take out pins.

Eyes- (Make 2) With Black, Ch 2. Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with. Pin eyes in face as seen in photos, use leftover tails to sew in place. Fasten off, weave in tail. Take out pins. Embroider eyelashes as seen in photos. Eyebrows- Thread blunt needle with Black and stitch brows as you see in photos.

Bangs: Measure and cut 6 Bright Yellow strands of yarn, each 7 inches long. Fold strand in half and, inserting hook in crocheted fabric of Kima's head, pull the yarn through, then insert the ends through the loop form and tighten. Repat with each strand of bang. Attach 3 folded pieces on the left side of Front of Body, counting from the center dividing line where you sewed the two sides together, then attach 3 folded strands on the right side. Trim to the height of eyelashes.

Tail- With Pumpkin, ch 43. Row 1- 4 dc in 4th ch from hk, *4 dc in next ch, 5 dc in next ch, 4 dc in next ch, 5 dc in next ch, rep from * across. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with. Using mesuring tape, find center of Back of Body and pin tail there, sew in place. Fasten off, weave in tail.

Ears- Ear # 1 (Make 2) With Bright Yellow, ch 2. Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc) Rnd 2- Make 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc) Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (18 sc) Rnd 4- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, *1 sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep from * around. (24 sc) Fasten off, weave in tail in one piece, leave long tail in the other piece to sew with.

Ear # 2 (Make 2) With Spring Green, ch 2. Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc) Rnd 2- Make 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc) Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (18 sc) Rnd 4- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, *1 sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep from * around. (24 sc) Fasten off, weave in tail in one piece, leave long tail in the other piece to sew with. Place two pieces together, wrong sides facing each other and right sides facing outward and whipstitch all around, except for bottom which you will leave open to attach to toy. Attach to side of Kima's head and sew in place. Repeat with other ear, making sure you attach both at the same level of head. Fasten off, weave in tails. Stuff body, sew top. Fasten off, weave in tail.
